"Katie could not be better at her job: her amplified voice was soothing and melodic as she guided us through prone stretches and standing balance poses. The hour passed in what felt like 10 minutes. I do yoga only a few times a year, and I’m always struck by how loose and healthy I feel afterward. Walking to the dining hall, I wondered how amazing I’d feel if I began a “practice” with a yogi like Katie every day."

"This experience has been an absolutely amazing investment in self. Personally, the self-care tips and reflection exercises that Katie thoughtfully plans are exactly what is needed during this extremely stressful time. The staff and I did not realize how much we needed Katie’s guidance through this difficult time until we started meeting with her. Anxiety levels have decreased and productivity has increased. I recommend Katie without reservation."
Brianne Wetzel, Head of School, Washington School for Girls
"Katie was made for this work. She teaches the essence of Kripalu."

I have a menu of poignant sessions that I will adapt to the needs of your group, organization or company. Examples include: mindfulness for busy times; techniques to stay centered & productive; cultivating gratitude and compassion; yoga for the workplace; mindful writing; and the revolution of rest.
Truly taking care of ourselves is deep, meaningful work. Having both a guide and a witness can be invaluable. I will provide tried and true techniques and support as you practice and play with what most resonates for you. I adore supporting people as they travel their unique path, and then watching them soar.
I offer programs in yoga, mindfulness and self-care for youth ages five and up. I also support schools and educators as they work to maintain both self-care and community during these challenging times.. .
I have adored movement for as long as I can remember. As a child, I took to the ice eventually competing in pairs figure sktating. Bridging this passion with a deep curiousity about the human condition and studying sociology and human development and psychology, I found my way to a yoga studio in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. I was teaching Middle School and can still feel in my bones the comfort and belonging I felt while being led in my first yoga class. My disciplined nature also attracted to the practice of yoga, I have been devotedly practicing ever since. Always wanting to learn, I pursued my yoga teacher training in 2008 at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health where I now teach. I am also a mother, partner, lover of the natural world and passionate writer.
Since college, I have been writing in the margins of my notebooks . . .poetry, epiphanies, quotes, reflections, memoir. I am in process with a poetry manuscript and a series of essays about my journey through breast cancer. Please visit my substack here to read more of my writing from over the years.
